Installing HaloDesk on your website
To make your AI agent available to visitors, you need to install the HaloDesk chat widget on your website.
HaloDesk supports two installation methods.
Installation method 1: Direct embed
This is the recommended method for most users.
Go to the Deploy tab of your agent
Open the Install section
Copy the provided script snippet
Paste it just before the closing
</body>tag on your website
Once installed, the widget can be turned on or off directly from HaloDesk.
Installation method 2: Google Tag Manager
If you use Google Tag Manager:
Select the Google Tag Manager installation option
Copy the GTM-specific script
Create a new tag in Google Tag Manager
Paste the script into the tag
Set the trigger according to your setup
Publish your changes
Turning the widget on and off
Even after the script is installed, you can:
Instantly enable the widget
Disable the widget without removing code
This is controlled by a toggle at the top of the Deploy tab.
Common installation issues
If the widget does not appear:
Make sure the script is placed before
</body>Confirm the correct agent is selected
Check that the widget is enabled
Verify domain restrictions (if enabled)
No reinstallation needed
Once the script is installed:
Widget content changes apply instantly
Style updates apply instantly
You do not need to reinstall the script
